Open Unsolved:  The killing of David Postawa

 

Kalamazoo, MI:  On August 29, 2022, at 10:32 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the report of a “male shot in the head” in the parking lot of Mills Street Market.  On arrival, Officers found David Shayne Postawa, a 31-year-old resident of Kalamazoo, suffering from an obvious gunshot would.  Officers and paramedics rendered emergency aid on scene.  Unfortunately, Mr. Postawa, who was transported to an area hospital, succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

 

This case remains open and is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division.  Detectives are seeking the assistance of those with knowledge of the case to come forward.  As Detectives close in on the offender, information you have could play a crucial role in moving the investigation forward.

Silent Observer encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and lack of interest.

Silent Observer provides a telephone hotline and web tip page  to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies in their crime-fighting efforts.   In addition, tips can be submitted through the free app "P3Tips." 

Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest and conviction, or grand jury indictment, of a felony offender.
